An attractive cuvée, the 2019 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru La Maltroie mingles aromas of cherries and wild berries with hints of loamy soil and spices. Medium to full-bodied, velvety and charming, it's layered and seamless, concluding with a long finish.

The 2019 Chassagne-Montrachet La Maltroye 1er Cru (Rouge) was 100% destemmed and matured in 30% new oak. This cuvée showed a little reduction on the nose. The palate is medium-bodied with chewy tannins, black fruit laced with tar and a muscular finish. Maybe a bit brawny at this stage despite the hands-off extraction, it is a little dictated by the growing season.
