The 2020 Corton-Perrières Grand Cru is one of Germain's finest reds, wafting from the glass with notes of dark berries, rose petals, loamy soil and spices. Medium to full-bodied, ample and fleshy, with lively acids and supple tannins, it concludes with a long, sapid, perfumed finish. It will be hard to pick a favorite between the 2020, 2019 and 2018.

The 2020 Corton-Perrières Grand Cru comes from purchased grapes with 30% whole bunch. This has a classy bouquet with mineral-driven black fruit, hints of graphite and tobacco emerging with time in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy black fruit, fine acidity, good grip towards the finish where it just misses a little delineation and finesse. But it should repay cellaring.
