Unwinding in the glass with aromas of pear, hazelnuts, white flowers, beeswax and lemon oil, the 2019 Chablis 1er Cru Forêt is medium to full-bodied, satiny and chiseled, with racy acids and an unusually serious, tensile profile for a bottling that's often the most demonstrative premier cru in the Raveneau cellars.

The 2019 Chablis Fôret 1er Cru has a little strictness on the nose, needing more coaxing than other cuvées in this vintage; touches of flint and pressed white flower are eked out with aeration. The palate is very well balanced, taut and fresh, with a fine bead of acidity. Quince and a touch of tangerine surface toward the elegant finish. Lovely.
