2001 Puligny Montrachet Demoiselles

(five barrels, of which three are new; from younger vines that yielded less than 50 hectoliters per hectare in 2001) Deeper yellow color. Rather unforthcoming nose hints at yellow plum, peach, honey and spicy oak. Creamy and concentrated but closed and inexpressive. Some unconverted malic acidity gives the rather oaky finish a hard edge.
