Cask sample. Vivid crimson. Really savoury and edgy. Lots of confident character here. Sweet fruit on the palate but very far from sickly. Slightly demanding inkiness on the finish but this could be QGV . No airs or graces. (JR)

Wafting from the glass with notions of cassis, dark chocolate, plums, spices and peonies, the 2020 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Chaignots is medium to full-bodied, velvety and enveloping, with a rich core of concentrated fruit, lively acids and a penetrating finish.
The 2020 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Chaignots 1er Cru has an attractive bouquet with pure black cherry and raspberry scents entwined with violet petal aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with quite firm grip on the entry, just a little confit-like towards the finish but there is plenty of freshness. It just needs to loosen up a bit by the time of bottling.
