Score 89/100 · Drink 2030-2050, Stephan Reinhardt, Wine Advocate, Mar 2020

Toni Bodenstein's 2010 Grüner Veltliner Smaragd Wachstum Bodenstein is intense and concentrated on the lemony-scented nose that displays intensity but also rather thrifty ripeness that delivers a lot of stone and green leaves to the nose but no generosity. On the palate, this is a sweetish and thrifty Veltliner with an austere finish that might improve with bottle age, but it has more features of the 2014 (with much more intensity and concentration) than with any another vintage. The 2010 was macerated for 12 hours due to very high acidity in the must. Tasted in Weissenkirchen/Wachau in September 2019.
