Score 91/100 · Drink 2013-2014, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Jun 2007

The estate's 2004 Bugia is made from 100% Ansonica, an indigenous white varietal Graetz sources from 60-year old vines on the nearby Isola del Giglio. Intensely-flavored yet light on its feet, the wine offers layers of tropical fruit, jasmine, honey and sweet toasted oak on a soft-textured frame buttressed by a lively note of minerality. It should drink well to at least age ten.

About the producer

Bibi Graetz 1:1
Bibi Graetz

Based just outside Florence, Bibi Graetz is something of a maverick in the Tuscan wine scene. Working with old vineyards of indigenous grapes around Chianti, he produces intense wines classified as IGT Toscana; not fitting neatly in either the Super Tuscan or Chianti camp.
