From two distinct parcels at the top of the slope. 40-year-old vines. Mid ruby. First bottle has perhaps a touch of volatile acidity ? The second, fresher, with better fruit. Rich, heady perfume of black fruits and cassis. Fresh acidity, tannic presence and grip. What you expect from a Nuits-St-Georges. Patience needed. (MH)

Damson fruit on the nose. Sweet start and powdery tannins with quite a bit of tartness. Not yet settled but it should have a good future. (JR)

The 2020 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Damodes has an attractive nose with brambly red fruit, sous-bois , cedar and light smoky scents that percolate through with time. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, fine acidity and is harmonious with a finely tuned finish. This is well crafted and should age well over the next 15 years or so.
