Score 92/100 · Drink 2024-2038, Neal Martin, May 2023

The 2021 Côte de Brouilly Godefroy comes from vines over 100-years old on limestone-rich soils. It has a subtle bouquet with scents of sea cave and oyster shells permeating the fruit that leans towards the blacker side. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy black fruit and chalky tannins - very complex with plenty of tension and energy on the finish. This really sings.

From ancient vines, the 2021 Côte de Brouilly Godefroy reveals aromas of sweet berries, cherries, vine smoke, peony and forest floor. Medium to full-bodied, ample and racy, with a fleshy core of fruit girdled by tangy acids, it concludes with a long, saline finish.
