2020 Mercurey

Some time ago, Vincent Dureuil began replanting his holdings in Mercurey with higher-quality massal selections of Pinot Noir, and with the 2020 Mercurey, those new plantings are beginning to bear fruit. The result, as I remarked to Dureuil, is the best Mercurey he has produced to date, exhibiting aromas of smoky berries, sweet soil tones and spices, followed by a medium to full-bodied palate that's more elegant and structurally refined than previous renditions.
