Wafting from the glass with aromas of sweet berries, raw cocoa, orange rind, warm spices and rose petal, the 2020 Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru Aux Gravains is medium to full-bodied, velvety and perfumed, with lively acids, melting tannins and a long, saline finish.

70% whole clusters; the first cuvée to be bottled. Cask sample. Approachable with a soft, rounded texture and a floral, lifted nose. Its sweetness and forward style is very flattering although persistence underlines what lies beneath. (MH)

The 2020 Savigny-lès-Beaune Aux Gravains 1er Cru is quite high-toned and very floral on the nose with violet and peony aromas filtering through the red cherry and strawberry fruit. The palate is beautifully-knitted together, fine tannins and a subtle build in the mouth with quite a structured but very pure and sustained finish. Classy.
