2019 Clos Vougeot

The 2019 Clos Vougeot Grand Cru has an understated bouquet that, unlike many of its peers, takes time to unfold in the glass, slowly revealing earthy, dark berry fruit with hints of pencil box and undergrowth. The palate is medium-bodied and supple, with fine acidity. It’s not amazingly complex, but there is a sense of cohesion and purity. The pedigree is only gradually unveiled. A Clos Vougeot that will appeal to lovers of "classic Burgundy,” this improves dramatically in the glass. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.
