Syrah. Mid crimson. Impressive black pepper and freshness on the nose. Definitely Syrah and really appetising without being sweet or heavy. Should be better in a year or two but lots of fun already. (JR)

The 2021 Graft is picked on the most emotional day for Loggerenberg as he feels it is such an amazing site and he can never make enough of it. It is from a vineyard shared with Reenen Boormann (Boschkloof) that tends to produce tannic fruit. it is raised in 2nd and 3rd fill barrels. It has an exquisite black olive and red berry nose that soars from the glass with a pinch of cracked black pepper. The palate is medium-bodied with gorgeous black olive tapenade notes on the entry, very saline, beautifully structured with a touch of spice lingering on the aftertaste. One of the best Syrahs in South Africa.
