The unattainable 2019 Uní del Bonnesant has a rare nose that feels more like a Château Rayas or a wine from Comando G in Gredos than any other Malbec in Argentina. This very shallow micro-plot can get stressed in warm years but seems to work wonders in cool and wet years like 2019. This has an explosive nose that is very primary and unusual, a rara avis with notes of raspberries and grenadine, orange peel and lilies, with a medium-bodied palate with very fine tannins and an ethereal quality about it. Surprisingly enough, this is only 13.5% alcohol and has a pH of 3.5 and seven grams of acidity. These are the first grapes to be picked, the wine has lower alcohol and more acidity. Again, I don't know what to do with virtual wines like this, because only 240 bottles were filled in November 2020... This wine was not produced in 2020 because they had frost and only harvested a few bunches from it.

The 2019 Malbec Uni Del Bonnesant from Gualtallary, Uco Valley was made with grapes grown on a slope near the Cristo Orante Monastery. Purple in the glass. The exotic nose offers plum jam, herbs and hints of black olive and chocolate followed by aromas of dried flower, absinth and a touch of cola; a late arriving whiff of rose takes the nose by surprise. Compact and chalky with a juicy palate, the refined flow lingers at length.
