Notes of elderberries, plums and cassis mingled with creamy spices and black truffle introduce the 2020 Savigny-lès-Beaune Les Grands Liards, a medium to full-bodied, deep and concentrated wine that's lively and penetrating. This is always one of the more muscular, less ethereal wines in the range, and its track record for developing in bottle is excellent.
The 2020 Savigny-lès-Beaune Les Grands Liards has a lifted bouquet with red cherries, a touch of blackcurrant pastilles and violet, pure and nicely focused. The palate is medium-bodied with crunchy tannins, a fine bead of acidity, quite taut and linear at the moment with a saline finish. Give this 4-5 years in bottle.
