Cask sample. Really creamy/leesy first impression. Pure-fruited – both grapefruit and ripe lemon. Deep and rich with perfect balance between fruit intensity and freshness. A touch of oak felt just on the finish in a sprinkling of spice and that firm texture. (JH)

The 2021 Meursault Les Vireuils, traditionally from a cold microclimate, somehow managed to still provide 50% of a normal crop. This has a reserved nose with touches of wax resin and citrus fruit that unfurl in the glass. The palate is well-balanced with grapefruit, lime cordial and light orange rind notes. Open and generous, this Meursault will likely give immense pleasure in its youth.
