Bottled mid December. Pale crimson. Juicy and lively with very direct fruit. Polished tannins and a hint of chestnut flavour. Reasonably transparent. (JR)

The 2021 Volnay Village comes from Es Echard and Les Aussy in equal amounts. It has a slightly lean nose, brambly red berry fruit and sous-bois , though it lacks a bit of fruité . The palate is sharp on the entry, almost Pommard-like, focused but it needs more flesh and depth on the finish.
