The 2020 Vosne-Romanée Les Champs Perdrix has turned out beautifully, revealing aromas of sweet cherries and raspberries mingled with notions of rose petal, bergamot and exotic spices. Medium to full-bodied, layered and concentrated, with powdery tannins, tangy acids and a saline finish, it transcends the heat of the vintage.

Cask sample. Bright crimson. Sweet and rich – almost like a New World Pinot! Muscular with no shortage of fine tannins. Still quite youthful but respectable. Appetising dry finish. (JR)

The 2020 Vosne-Romanée Les Champs Perdrix was showing just a little stemminess on the nose, though it is well defined and focused. The palate is medium-bodied with bell pepper infused red fruit, spicy and lively, a tingle of Shezchuan peppers on the finish. Excellent for its class.
