The 2021 Hermitage checks in at 14% alcohol. Expressive black cherry, cedar, pencil shavings, crushed violets and meaty gradations rise up from the glass. Concentrated and layered, this is a delicious 2021 Hermitage with character and class.

Cask sample. Really vibrant blackberry fruit on the nose – meat and a very subtle, earthy graphite note. The palate is sleek, opulent and, at the same time, restrained. Very appealing, with finesse, fine-grained tannins and tension. Polished and lively (but perhaps missing some grunt?). (AC)
