Cask sample. Transparent ruby. Slightly sour fruit. Not the most charming Charmes in fact. Just a bit sour and severe. Tannins are a tad bitter. (JR)

The 2015 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Charmes was aged in one-year-old barrels. There was a lingering touch of reduction on the nose, though underneath lies pleasant red plum and redcurrant aromas tinged with wilted rose petals. The palate is well balanced with crisp acidity, plenty of ripe and rounded red cherry and strawberry fruit with very fine precision on the finish. This is an excellent Chambolle-Musigny from Thibault.
