Il Paradiso di Manfredi's 2012 Brunello di Montalcino is gorgeous, showing a classic Sangiovese profile with cherry-berry fruit giving way to dried roses, cedar box and dusty earth, and subtly sweet spices developing over time. It floods the palate with silky textures, seamlessly coasting across a core of bright acids, as ripe red fruits, inner earth and leather notes mount toward the close. The finish is long, structured, yet also quite fresh, with fine tannins clenching the senses under an air of violet florals. This is really quite nice.
