2019 Puligny Montrachet 1er Cru Hameau de Blagny

The 2019 Puligny-Montrachet Hameau de Blagny 1er Cru has a fragrant rose water and blackcurrant leaf-tinged bouquet, though perhaps it does not deliver the same complexity as its peers. The oak seems to become more pronounced with aeration. The palate is well-balanced with a tangy entry, Golden Delicious and fresh pear notes, but it seems to run out of ideas in the final third, and consequently, there is a flatness that it cannot shake off on the finish.
