Single vineyard on granitic soils. The grapes spent fives weeks on skins and the wine was aged in an old 500-litre barrel for one year. Heady florals on the nose. Unusually for a Chenin, it tastes of lavender and violets and wild raspberries. It's profoundly fragrant with a diaphanous transparency to the fruit, which turns into a chiffon-like texture on the finish. Mesmerisingly singular. Ethereal, but intense. It's a bit like tasting the Northern Lights. (TC)

The 2021 Veiling Chenin Blanc offers delicate aromas of citrus peel and a white rock minerality with a fresh and exquisite frame of underripe peaches, fresh Meyer lemon and elements of seaspray and citrus blossom on the nose. Light to medium-bodied, the palate delivers an essence of crunchy yellow apples, delightful mineral tension and a soft, lingering spiciness with a kiss of phenolic bitterness across the mid-palate. The wine glides to a lovely, food-friendly finish that expresses varietal purity and a sense of place. This is absolutely gorgeous Chenin!
