Initially subdued on the nose, the 2021 Under the Gavel Chardonnay begins with a subtly spicy essence of citrus blossoms, yellow apples and a kiss of dusty mineral essence. Medium-bodied, the palate offers a touch of phenolic bitterness with a soft mineral tension and expressive, energetic acidity. The wine concludes with a mouthwatering and complex mineral tension that grows in amplitude over the aftertaste. It’s a smartly made wine that has me coming back for a second sip. Give it a try.
