Rainy and the most difficult vintage of the last 30 years with botrytis pressure. They used an organically allowed spray that you could use up to four days before the harvest – a bacterium that ate the botrytis. Much lighter and redder than the 2012, ie showing more development in the colour. Sweet and seductive fruit. So inviting and already complex. Spicy. Orange, lavender again. (JH)

First tasting, blind: Bricky garnet – looks much older than 2013. Smells very evolved too. Second bottle, sighted, a few days later: Mid ruby with brick rim, looks relatively developed. On the nose a sort of sultry sweetness and some oak spice, coffee, red fruits, leather. Really compact tannins, in fact, it feels like dense, compacted chalk. This bottle seems much less evolved than the first. (JH)

To be bottled in August 2015. Very rich and heady and animal. Maybe a bit too odd on the nose? Slightly austere on the end. Impressively long. (JR)
