Score 92/100 · Drink 2025-2039, Stephan Reinhardt, Wine Advocate, Feb 2025

From a vintage with lots of sun and rain at the right time in August, the medium-colored 2019 Heimbourg Turckheim Pinot Noir is deep, pure, fresh and intense on the quite complex and concentrated, fruity and spicy nose that shows candied cherry aromas, hints of licorice, mocha and fresh vegetal and autumn leaf as well as crushed limestone notes. Light and fresh on the silky-textured palate, this is a medium-bodied, refined and elegant, pretty straight red wine with an intense, saline and fleshy finish. The 2019 is in between the purity and freshness of the 2020 and the generosity and concentration of the 2022. It is ripe and juicy as well as fresh and savory on the tight and well concentrated, very promising finish. This is a serious Alsatian red wine and a beautiful Pinot Noir from the red Oligocene limestone soils of the Heimbourg. 12.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted in November 2024.
