Bright red-ruby. Blackberry, currant, minerals, violet and licorice on the nose and palate. Opulent, sweet and rich, but with its unctuous texture nicely leavened by sound acidity. Really wonderfully creamy, pliant wine, with a very long, perfumed finish featuring a light dusting of tannins that coats the entire mouth. A superb vintage for this bottling, to enjoy over the next 10 to 15 years.

Good bright, dark red. Very ripe, pure aromas of blueberry, blackberry, flowers, tobacco and peppery spices. Densely packed, creamy and firm, with compelling sweetness of fruit. Doesn't have quite the Oriental spice and floral lift of a cooler year, but conveys very good verve for such a ripe wine. Finishes with noble tannins and excellent persistence.
