The 2018 Bourgogne Rouge – which, like the Côteaux Bourguignon, sees no new oak and comes from vines in Flagey-Echézeaux – has a perfumed, quite floral bouquet with delicate scents of violets drifting over the blackberry and blueberry aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, a smooth texture and impressive depth equaled by the elegance on the finish. You will find few generic reds as good as this.

Aromas of wild berries, plums, rich soil tones and spices introduce the 2018 Bourgogne Rouge, a medium to full-bodied, textural wine built around powdery tannins and succulent acids. It's a lovely wine that is being raised entirely in used barrels.
