Deep violet. A highly perfumed bouquet evokes primary red and blue fruit and pungent flowers, and a spicy nuance gains strength in the glass. Sappy and penetrating in the mouth, offering appealingly sweet black raspberry and cherry flavors that deepen through the midpalate. Finishes long, silky and sweet, with rounded tannins adding gentle grip. Raised in a combination of concrete and stainless steel tanks.

70% Grenache, 25% Syrah, 5% Mourvèdre. Aged for 18 months in concrete and stainless steel. Tank sample. Tasted blind. Conventional bramble fruit with a dusting of spice on the palate. Semi-firm tannins that give good grip without intruding. Very enjoyable now, with reasonable short-term cellaring potential. (RH)
