The 2012 Ürziger Würzgarten Riesling GG Alte Reben Hommage spent three years on the lees and won't leave the cellar before 2022. It is a full-bodied, rich, round and powerful Würzgarten with fine tannins. It is a highly complex and very persistent yet still young Riesling. Very promising. Tasted October 2017.

A clean and fresh fruity fragrance is enhanced by a very delicate touch of spice. Despite an ample measure of acidity the texture is creamy and the body perfectly shaped. The Würzgarten is so well balanced and harmonious, it almost makes you suspicious. And there it is: I have discovered its character flaw. It has no edges, but if you like it nice and smooth, add points at your discretion. (MS)
