The 2018 Pouilly-Fuissé Vers Cras was difficult to read on the nose as it was pretty much closed for business. The palate is well balanced and much more expressive with a fine bead of acidity. It is quite saline with subtle tropical notes of pineapple and passion fruit, the mineralité percolating through towards the finish. Excellent, but for the aromatics to get into gear, it will need time in bottle.

Rich aromas of peach, mirabelle plum, toasted bread, dried citrus peel and hazelnuts, the 2018 Pouilly-Fuissé Les Cras Vieilles Vignes Cuvée Claude Denogent is medium to full-bodied, ample and layered, with impressively lively acids and a long, saline finish. This has turned out brilliantly for the vintage.
