Accomasso's 2015 Barolo requires a very forgiving palate to appreciate. Super-ripe dark fruit and oxidative overtones are immediately apparent. Gravel, burnt rubber, smoke, leather and tobacco emerge with aeration, which also seems to accentuate hardness in the tannin. Sometimes wine can lean more towards romance than reality. The 2015 is a flawed, imperfect wine, but there is something compelling about that too, especially in our digital age.
