The 2018 Volnay 1er Cru Frémiets offers up an inviting bouquet of red berries, wild plums, spices and rich soil tones, followed by a medium to full-bodied, concentrated and elegantly proportioned palate, built around ripe acids and powdery, fine-grained tannins. From a 0.75-hectare parcel of old vines, this is a fine Frémiets in the making.
