2019 Riesling Wachstum Bodenstein Smaragd

The 2019 Riesling Smaragd Wachstum Bodenstein opens with a pure, precise and enormously flinty bouquet of stewed white peach aromas and also indicates great concentration of everything—fruit and terroir. Lush, round and powerful but precise and mineral, this is a rich and concentrated, quite massive and accordingly finely tannic dry Riesling with a long, intense, firmly structured and sustainable finish that is stunningly pure, crystalline and even refined, much leaner than the mid-palate. Definitely a wine on its way. 13.5% alcohol. Tasted at the domaine in June 2021.
