Bright red-ruby. Perfumed aromas of raspberry, crushed stone and minerals. A juicy, tightly wound fruit bomb with spicy raspberry flavor lifted by a noble note of blood orange. Penetrating and taut but hardly a fleshy wine. Finishes with firm tannins. Time in bottle may well bring an outstanding rating.

Good medium red. Musky, wild aromas of raspberry, minerals and game. Sweet, concentrated and pure, with a rounder texture than the basic village bottling. Here the tannins are sweeter. Fourrier notes that it takes three or four months of aging on the lees after the end of the malolactic fermentation for the wine to take on a glyceral character from the lees-the wine actually absorbs two or three liters of lees, he says-and this wine finished its malo early.
