The 2020 Monthélie bursts with aromas of ripe cherries and berries mingled with hints of woodsmoke and toasty new oak. Medium to full-bodied, ample and fleshy, it's a rich, powerful wine underpinned by impressively vibrant acidity. Its 14.8% alcohol is hard to discern.

The 2020 Monthélie Rouge had been racked the previous week. It has a generous floral bouquet with crushed violet and iris flower combined with black cherries and blueberry fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with supple, quite fleshy blue fruit, perhaps just needing a little more grip on the finish.
