The 2013 Chambolle Musigny 1er Cru les Charmes has an ebullient, concentrated bouquet with raspberry puree, fresh strawberry and mineral scents that soar from the glass with absolutely no inhibitions. The palate is structured on the entry with a gentle grip, fine mineral notes here and superb delineation. It clams up a little toward the finish, but there is certainly sufficient fruit intensity here to suggest that it will age gracefully over 15 to 20 years without too much trouble. This comes highly recommended. Superb.

Rich and dense on the nose. Rather brutal and awkward at the moment. Chewy and grainy for the moment. Edgy. (JR)
