The 2020 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Vaucrains 1er Cru has a much fresher nose than some of its peers. There's more red fruit in the mix than black and less heat. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins, quite fresh again. I wonder if there is some added acidity or more limestone soil? It doesn't quite bind as well as I would have liked on the finish. It's not bad, though the nose promised more. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.

Dry and savoury and even more backward than the Pruliers 2020. (JR)

The 2020 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Vaucrains 1er Cru is a ripe and precocious nose that is not as sweet as the Clos des Porrets, yet still there is a bit of heat here. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy black fruit, quite structured and grippy. It seems to tighten up towads the finish that just needs a little more flesh and red fruit.
