The 2018 Château d’Arsac has an attractive bouquet of blackberry, cassis and light violet aromas, understated at first but opening with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with graphite-tinged black fruit, taut and focused, not powerful or voluminous yet full of tension and precision on the finish. Very fine.

Cru bourgeois exceptionnel .  72% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Merlot. Deep crimson hue. Reserved dark-fruit nose. Rich and layered on the palate. Mouth-filling with plenty of matière . Big, firm, chewy tannins behind. All in balance but could have done with a lighter hand. (JL)

A very rich Margaux with lots of blackberry and black-olive character. Full body, lightly chewy tannins and a flavorful finish. Impressive.
