The 2021 Blason de d'Issan, matured in 35% new oak, has a lively bouquet with brambly red fruit, hints of cinnamon and allspice. I like how open and expressive this is showing. The palate is medium-bodied with a very peppery opening. It’s not deep or powerful, but it’s well-balanced with clove and bay leaf on the finish. Fine.

The 2021 Blason d’Issan has a perfumed blackberry, wild strawberry and iris petal bouquet that unfolds slowly in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannins, good structure and a brisk, lightly spiced finish.

The 2021 Blason d'Issan is a soft, fruity second wine to drink now and over the next few years, while the red-fleshed fruit remains vibrant.
