Score 89-91/100 · Drink 2025-2040, Neal Martin, May 2022

The 2021 Château du Glana has a pretty, understated bouquet of cedar-infused black fruit, hints of cigar humidor emerging with time. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-boned tannins, quite elegant and fresh, with more red fruit percolating though on the harmonious finish. This is a well-crafted Saint-Julien.

Soft, medium-bodied, and supple, the 2021 du Glana is a giving, somewhat ephemeral wine redolent of sweet berries, cherries, pencil shavings and tobacco.

Tight tannins on the opening beats, but there are bright berry fruits here, soft curls of woodsmoke, crushed rock and saffron spice. Unwinds in the palate but this is tasty and has finesse.
