Tasted blind at the Burgundy 2011 horizontal tasting in Beaune. Again, like some other Corton les Combes ’11s, the oak juts out from the red and black fruit and dominates the aromatics. The palate is medium-bodied with rather hard tannins. This feels a little overextracted and stringy in the mouth. The finish is curt and austere, a rather unlovable Corton.
