This really hasn't changed all that much from when I first reviewed it from bottle in Issue 80 (2020). That note is: A markedly floral if decidedly reticent nose that is trimmed in subtle oak influence speaks of spiced plum, lavender, violet and red cherry. The attractively concentrated and generously proportioned medium-bodied flavors brim with sappy dry extract that also buffers the moderately firm tannins on the powerful and slightly grippy finish that exudes a hint of bitter chocolate. At least some patience is definitely advised as this youthfully austere effort is likely to evolve slowly.

The 2017 Clos Vougeot Grand Cru has a rich, opulent bouquet of baked red cherries, cranberry and just a faint touch of coconut. A little oaky, but seductive in a New World style. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, and flashy for a Clos Vougeot. A Pinot Noir that wants to be noticed, but it lacks intellectual heft. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2017 tasting.

The colour is fine and clear but the nose shows a level of oxidation, which does reappear on the palate despite the fact that the principle profile of fruit is red not black. Quite high acidity. I think this would have been better in another bottle.
