Plush but well-defined, the 2019 Vosne-Romanée Les Petits-Monts 1er Cru has plenty of red berry fruit on the expansive nose and just a hint of wilted rose petal that comes forth with aeration. There is lovely detail here. The palate is medium-bodied with a smooth texture, fine weight and well-integrated oak that needs a few more month to be fully assimilated. There's a crescendo of flavors that is entrancing, whilst all the time maintaining composure and mineralité . Superb. Chapeau , Amélie Berthaut. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.

The 2019 Vosne-Romanée Les Petits-Monts 1er Cru has more intensity and slightly darker fruit compared to the Les Suchots, but it shares the same enthralling delineation and focus. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins. This displays exquisite balanced, a little tight on the finish but it is supremely well focused with a very persistent, lightly peppered finish courtesy of the 20% whole bunches. Wonderful.
