Score 91/100 · Drink 2025-2035, Yohan Castaing, Wine Advocate, Mar 2025

Crafted from sandy and gravelly clay soils, the 2022 De Malleret reveals a gourmand, fresh bouquet of dark berries, sweet cherries and licorice. Medium to full-bodied, enveloping and charming, it's round with good depth at the core and velvety tannins, concluding with a fresh, long finish. Matured for 18 months in 30% new barrels, 40% one-year barrels and 30% two-year barrels, this is a contemporary, elegant wine from the Médoc.

The 2022 Château De Malleret is another incredibly charming, balanced, absolutely delicious wine in the vintage. Ripe black cherries, redcurrants, spicy wood, and savory herb notes all give way to a medium-bodied, round, layered Haut-Médoc that has fine tannins and a great finish.

The 2022 Malleret, matured in 30% new French oak, has a well-defined bouquet with blackberry, melted tar and graphite scents. The palate is balanced, supple and fluid, with a keen line of acidity and a touch of pure blackberry laced with graphite and black pepper on the finish. Well made.

This has notes of cassis, black cherries, dark licorice and cedar on the nose. The medium- to full-bodied palate offers ripe, velvety tannins that are compact yet expansive, building a broad structure and finishing with a long, succulent aftertaste. Try from 2028.
