The 2022 La Tour Carnet has a relatively light but well defined nose of blackberry and cedar, gentle and cohesive. The palate is a bit sour on the entry, with grainy tannins and modest depth, and an almost Right Bank-like fleshiness on the finish. Not bad, though it just lacks a bit of breeding. Tasted blind at the Southwold tasting in London.

Black cherries, smoky tobacco, and spicy oak notes all emerge from the 2022 Château La Tour Carnet, a rocking little Haut-Médoc that has medium to full-bodied richness, velvety tannins, and outstanding length. It’s great today and will be great in a decade or more.
The 2022 La Tour Carnet has an opulent and forward bouquet with black cherry, boysenberry and light minty aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly chewy tannins. It's grainy in texture with tarry, lightly spiced notes on the finish. This was tasted twice.
Ripe cherries, plums, tapenade, dried flowers and a touch of baked berries on the nose. This is ripe but still juicy and tightly wound, with dusty tannins that coalesce at the end. Try after two more years in the bottle.
