The 2022 Bellegrave (Pomerol) has a slightly savory bouquet that opens nicely in the glass, though it’s a bit more feral than I expected compared to the barrel showing. The palate is medium-bodied with dry tannins and modest weight but it seems to have lost a little brightness on the finish. I wonder if there is a better sample out there?

The 2022 Bellegrave (Pomerol) reveals aromas of sweet berries, cherries, licorice and mint, followed by a medium to full-bodied, fleshy palate with a succulent core of fruit and powdery structuring tannins.

The 2022 Bellegrave is a powerful, vibrant Pomerol. Graphite, new leather, dark fruit and lavender unfurl in the glass. The 2022 has plenty of energy to match its broad, ample feel. Even with all of its obvious intensity, Bellegrave is so expressive. The blend of 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc works well.
