The 2020 Chambolle-Musigny Les Cras 1er Cru feels just a little overripe on the nose, attractive since it retains purity, though there's a little warmth that blurs the edges. The palate is medium-bodied with ripe, slightly baked fruit and lower acidity than its peers. The 2020 becomes somewhat bitter on the finish. It might pall after a single glass, but the silky texture is very attractive. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.

The 2020 Chambolle-Musigny Les Cras 1er Cru had a later malo than the Charmes, to this was more backward and less expressive on the nose. The palate is medium-bodied with fine grain tannins, a keen line of acidity and fine mineralité and tension on the finish. Though not tasting as well as the Charmes today, I believe this has more potential.
