Medium red. High-toned aromas of redcurrant, raspberry and red licorice, with a medicinal aspect. Silky and lush in texture but a bit youthfully sullen, with sweet berry and red licorice flavors currently hiding a serious underlying structure. Finishes with very ripe, dusty tannins. This is distinctly round but still needs five years in the bottle.

Palish red. Very ripe aromas of strawberry and smoke, with a floral nuance. Fat, round and sweet, with good mid-palate texture and fairly soft tannins. These vines are always picked early and very ripe, noted Clavelier.
