The 2021 Cuvée Caroline has a light, apple blossom- and Conference pear-scented nose that doesn't quite have the complexity of the regular cuvée. The palate is well-balanced with a bitter lemon entry and fine depth, cohesive with a slightly Germanic finish. Fine. Tasted twice with consistent notes.

The 2021 Cuvée Caroline is a pretty, easygoing white to drink now and over the next handful of years. Lemon confit, tangerine, jasmine and light tropical notes build nicely. This soft, open-knit white has gentle curves.

A charming and enjoyable dry white that is always a name to look out for. Full of lift, with wet grass, white tea, pink grapeful, lemon peel, slate. Harvest September 2 to 21, 50% new oak.

Full bottle 1,243 g. 56% Sauvignon Blanc, 40% Sémillon, 4% Sauvignon Gris picked 2–21 September. Barrel fermentation and aged for nine months in barriques (50% new). Cask sample. Richly floral aroma and then zesty, marked acidity on the palate. Very subtle oak influence with a dry, mineral finish. A charmer though probably not for very long keeping. (JR)
